Pre-registration is required for all classes unless otherwise indicated. Yoga with Art for Kids:

Instructor:  Jane Taul, Registered Yoga Teacher
Dates:  Tuesdays, October 3rd - 24th (4 weeks)
Times:  3:15 pm - 4:15 pm
Ages:  1st - 5th grades
Fee:  $30 (Pre-registration Required by Tuesday, September 26th)

Please Note: This class takes place at Baldwin Elementary School Primary Center

An exploration of coordination, balance, stability, creative thinking and problem solving, with an emphasis on calming the body and mind. We will be creating yoga poses to demonstrate the meaning of our individual drawings, so the students will be encouraged to create independently as well as part of a team. Thinking outside the box and coloring outside the lines is encouraged!

Great for all levels of acting experience! This class will use stories and theater games to teach the basics of acting: improvisation, character development, and working as a team. There will be no public performance with this activity.

Fabric Art (Session 1):

Time:  9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Fee:  $30 (Pre-registration Required by September 15th.)

Please note:  Class size is limited to 5 students--sign up early! Two sessions are available. Session 2 will be held on November 4th (see listing below).

This popular class is back! The instructor will lead students through cutting and arranging fabric with fusible web, then fixing onto muslin to complete a fabric landscape art piece. Great for home decor, or giving as a gift!

All supplies provided, but please bring your own small fabric scissors.

There will be a supply fee of $10, which will be collected at the class. Please bring cash or check.

Gingerbread House Party -- Fifth Annual:

Date:  Saturday, December 2nd
Time:  12:30 pm - 2:00 pm --or-- 3:00 - 4:30pm (please note your choice of session on your registration)
Fee:  $15 (Pre-registration is not required for this event, but is much appreciated and ensures your spot!)

Who knew art could taste this good? Each participant will create their own house for decoration or dessert. All ages welcome, but children 5 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Walk-ins on the day of the event, while supplies last. Participants are encouraged to display their houses in the Lumberyard classrooms during the evening’s Festival of Lights events. From Stick Figures to Fine Art:

Date:  Tuesdays and Thursdays, September 19th - October 12th (4 weeks)

Have you always wished you could draw, or would you like to improve the skills you have? "From Stick Figures to Fine Art" is designed to help beginners and amateur artists alike. Based on Betty Edwards’ techniques from “Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain,” this class will focus on teaching the right-brain shift that allows would-be artists to draw what has always been in front of them. Don’t be afraid! You can do it!

Dirty Pours Painting:

Instructor:  Elaine Engle
Dates:  Friday, October 13th
Times:  7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Ages:  Adult
Fee:  $30 class fee, plus $20 supply fee to be paid at class--please bring cash or check (Pre-registration Required by Wednesday, October 4th)

If you love paint-a-canvas classes, you have to try this! Dirty Pour is the technique of combining paint with various substances and pouring the mixture over a canvas to create interesting shapes and colors. In this class you will learn color theory and how to layer paints in a cup as Elaine takes you step by step through various methods in pouring with acrylic paints. Makes a fun date or girls night out!

Supply List: 6 canvases, suggested sizes include 8x10,12x12,11x14,10x20. You will find a variety of canvas sizes at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. Elaine will provide paint and all other supplies, but if you have specific paint colors you really want, you are welcome to bring those as well (acrylic paint only). Suggested brands would be Artist Loft, or craft acrylic paints found at Walmart.
