Thanks to a Department of Commerce, Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission Strategic Investment Program grant, the Lumberyard Arts Center was able to implement its $13,980 audiovisual facility upgrade project. Cost included in-kind volunteer time for board member Chris Thomas to program and install the equipment. With Chris’s leadership and support by fellow board members, Jennifer Burkhead, Brian Cramer and Bryan Butell, the arts center’s main courtyard and classroom each have dedicated screens and projectors. Equipment purchases also included sound equipment, lights and computers. The audiovisual upgrade is part of our strategic goals to enhance our facility for live music performances including additional community events and facility rentals.
The Lumberyard Arts Center was supported in part by the Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission, which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
